The 1st impression of theirs -"Where did you buy this from? And I do not think that I ever see this kind of Macarons outside before?"

Watermelon Swiss Roll

Watermelon as cake??? Have you seen this before? Yes, indeed they are just swiss roll cake but look like watermelon!!

Hankerie came out of this idea - watermelon swiss roll. I will name it as "cakemelon". This creative idea inspired from the Australia Melon that I've seen in supermarket here. Most of the Australia watermelon melon are more pinkish, but suprisingly they're sweeter than what we have in Malaysia - red flesh watermelon.

Well, I always like to bake special thing particularly those can be deceived by its look. A cake looks like watermelon, your taste bud will get totally confused but what you see before consumption. For the 1st bite, you tend to think this is juicy and sweet, but in the same time, it gives you the cake flavour - fluffy, soft and different sweetness from watermelon.

Instead of using jam in between the layer, I decided to use my favourite fresh raspberries and blend into my fresh cream. It represents the pinkish white part in between the watermelon flesh and skin. Wondering about the seed imitation??? They are not the real watermelon seed, you can give a wild guess :)

Cut into slices, take closer look of the seed!

That's my favourite feature swiss roll thus far.

Hankerie's Flower Cupcakes

Daisy + Rose = ? Both are flowers, they looks absolutely gorgeous when decorating on top of the cupcakes. Apply the fresh raspberries chocolate cream on top of basic vanilla cupcakes by using my mum's traditional recipe. Finishing the flower edge by using raspberries, cover the not-so-pretty part :)

The vibrant colour of this daisy makes the whole picture stunning. It's time to proceed my fondant flowers in next few weeks. Being too busy with work, time to relax and do what you really like.

Garfield Macarons

Garfield always voted as my most loved cartoon character and he has always been a favourite of mine, so Garfield Macarons, these are specially made for sure. If you see my Garfield swiss roll before, you will understand how my loves towards Garfield since young. In my opinion, garfield macarons are much easier to make than Garfield Swiss Roll.

In fact, when I brought these Garfield Macarons office that day, nobody believe these are macarons and especially made by me. They are totally stunned with these little cute thing. The 1st impression of theirs  -"Where did you buy this from? And I do not think that I ever see this kind of Macarons outside before?"

The flavour of this macaron is orange filling, with original Macarons flavour of its shell. Here you go, another cute thing to share with others. Everyone will put on their smile while eating every single bites of this.

Teddy Bear Macarons

Woo hoo, another of my macaron's idea - Teddy bear macarons. Teddy bear always is the best friend of all girls, the best ever gift for any events. I've lost count how many teddy bear soft toys that I've before. The fond of teddy bear has made me to draw without any reference, fully depends on my last memory towards teddy bear.

After getting so much compliments from Lazaro Cooks & Jill Colonna (a popular macaron French cookbook author), more new ideas to inspire me making more creative ideas on macarons. From there, I learnt various way to present macarons.

There is an interesting fact that I've learnt from one of my Canadian friend - Shyane. The gloomy bear is his most favourite and he claimed that it looks like the old traditional English bear which really looks that gloomy.
Hankerie's teddy bears- good friend :)

It is NOT burger! It's burger MACARONS!

I have been always obsessed with the idea of other bakes that looks like a burger. I finally got around to making some just in time to celebrate the April's fool event, a typical look burger macarons. Yes, they're macarons, not the burgers!!!

In fact, the macarons that I make always seem to look like little burgers. So instead of fighting my macaron's burger-like quality, I decided to embrace it fully with these whimsical "burger" macarons. I sprinkled some sesame seeds on my macaron shells before baking them so that they would look like burger buns.

These misiature burger macarons are specially make for Erica's baby shower last week. I'm so delighted that she loves this burger macarons the most our of my Garfield and Teddy Bear Macarons.
